The Fair Tax would make the economy roar. We would go from nearly 50 million people in poverty to probably just a few million. There would be a job for anyone that wanted one. Foreign manufacturers would fall all over themselves to build factories in the USA to take advantage of the best tax haven on the planet. Americans would prosper. Researchers predict a 10.5% GDP increase the 1st year, and full employment in 2 years. The Fair Tax shifts the tax burden toward the rich because of their egregious spending - the rich only have to spend about 57% of their income to equal what they're paying now, because they have so many loopholes in the US tax code, and that's just the ones that are playing by the rules. There's lots of them that have their money hidden overseas. The Tax Justice Network estimates that there are 11 trillion American dollars sequestered overseas simply to avoid our taxes. Get rid of the taxes and that money will come flying back here, to make more money, and we'll be able to use it to fix our roads and bridges. The income taxes are strangling us, and it is like boiling the frog - it has been going on so long, we don't see the little-by-little degradations that are the stealthy work of the income tax. In 1963, President Kennedy, after only 50 years of Income taxes, saw it: "The largest single barrier to full employment of our manpower and resources and to a higher rate of economic growth is the unrealistically heavy drag of federal income taxes on private purchasing power, initiative and incentive. John F. Kennedy, Jan. 24, 1963 " We must get rid of the income taxes, or our economy is going to collapse. The best way to do that is the Fair Tax.REPORT COMMENTS

Reforming the current tax codes is an insufficient "fix".We can solve the complete conundrum/problem by seriously debating, and then passing, the FAIR Tax Act of 2015. Thank you for your attention.REPORT COMMENTS
