We as parents and citizens have had enough of the dumbing down and endoctrination of our children. so many of the programs forced or coerced on our youth are very detrimental to their learning...they need better education to be able to make informed and healthy decisions in life...Feb 10th, 2017Sally B. from Benton, KY signed.

Generations were instructed and obtained higher education without the need for a "Department of Education." Bring education back to the State level and let every State become the best testing ground for the best programs, for the best results possible! It worked beautifully before. If allowed, it will work and will produce great results once again!REPORT COMMENTS

I think that the local governments will have a better grasp of the needs of the children in our community. Therefore, there is no need for overpaid federal employees to decide what our children need to know and how it is taught.REPORT COMMENTS

The Government has NO place in education. If it is involved, it becomes indoctrination. This is what we have seen since the founding of the Department. Give control back to the locals.REPORT COMMENTS

Since there is absolutely nothing in the US Constitution regarding Education or the Department of Education as a Federal Obligation or Power or Right, that right defaults to the States or to the People. As such, I request that you support the elimination of the Federal Department of Education and put this responsibility back to the States or Localities or the People as was originally designated in the Constitution.REPORT COMMENTS

We need to remove "Big Government" out our lives. Lets start with Education! Let's put the control back in the hands of parents and the state in which they live. Not some distance bureaucrat that has NO idea what is going on in our communities. Please, please, please support this bill.REPORT COMMENTS

The Department of Education exists solely to serve itself and in no way benefits "the children of America". Virtually all public schools and state run colleges and universities are nothing more than Progressive indoctrination facilities where children are taught to hate their country, their parents, themselves, and reject all of the tenets of the greatest country ever created in the history of Mankind, The United States of America. Let us finish what President Ronald Reagan began, and excise this malignancy from our society once and for all.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe our education of our children is to important for Washington to have any bearing on it. The problems started with the teachers unions and the influence they have on politicians, as evidenced by the atrocious test scores.REPORT COMMENTS

The govt. should stop paying for bureaucrats, fancy buildings in high rent districts, office furniture, heat, air, cleaning crews, telephones and computers for each employee... Close the department of education! Close a few other agencies as well since their real goal is to increase their employees so the bosses are paid more. Sci-Fi has nothing over the bureaucrats and bureaucrats; they grow much faster than "The Blob."REPORT COMMENTS

A bold move. I applaud it. Now, ladies and gentlemen please follow through and make this happen! Remember, your job is to support the Constitution as well as "we, the people." Get the Federal Government out or our schools and returned back to the parents and states, who understand local needs.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a bill I wholehearedly support; I have long felt as an educator, mentor, a senior project manager with the Boeing Company that education belongs at the state and local government levels where it can be controlled by those most affected - parents, teachers, and local school boards. Washington bearucrates have no place in this scenario. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS
