Please stop over bearing our already frivolously taxed citizens. Instead, take the extensive taxes you charge us and use them wisely. Make and keep a responsible budget. Stop over spending. Cut spending on unimportant studies and programs, but keep imperative spending in order (defense, Social Security..etc). Get rid of this silly, ultra expensive ObamaCare! Reduce our debt. You have ruined our nation with your bad economic practices...and by allowing President Obama to sign into action his "Executive Orders", taking away our Constitutional Rights. Do not allow thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants to receive green cards/citizenship. If yiou do, we will have all of those thousands upon thousands of people to support with money we don't have! I implore you to be wise! Otherwise, I must vote for someone who will be!

Additional note from jpenajr@hotmail.com: Dear legislators: Hasty reactions to perceived problems can lead to embarrassment, just ask "Guvernor" Andrew Cuomo. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/18/ny-guv-looks-to-clarify-gun-law-after-concern-about-exemption-for-police/ H.R 682\S. 336 appears to be such an effort. States are in need of money so the apparent solution is just to TAKE more money. Internet transactions come to mind and who can argue against everyone paying their "fair share"? BUT.... have you fully considered the BURDEN you will place on the entities that have to collect the tax for you? The BURDEN of JUST having to fill out existing forms is already onerous, to say the least. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111904491704576575102252569660.html If there are "tax codes that number about 9,600" to be dealt with, imagine the ADDITIONAL burden you are creating for business! What will this additional burden do to the millions of small business owners that sell merchandise out of their kitchen on Ebay, Amazon, etc? Do you suppose that the population of people you hope will collect taxes for you will dwindle as they are forced out of business because the burden of maintaining tax collected records for the guy in Podunk, USA that bought the $5 used item is overwhelming... and you KNOW that Podunk has a local sales tax that must be collected and remitted. Imagine the administrative load of having ONE sale from ONE taxing jurisdiction that HAS to be remitted or face possible government prosecution later. The business would be faced with having to find the name and address of the taxing entity in Podunk and remit the $0.4125 (8.25%, what I pay here) check or face becoming a criminal for tax evasion. Imagine having to do this for "tax codes that number about 9,600". IMAGINE the burden of having to RESEARCH each and every sale to see if there is a tax code that must be observed! If I am making $1 off the $5 sale that just came in, I cannot AFFORD to research whether or not I have to put a check in the mail for it. If ALL of my items are low profit margin... I cannot collect taxes for you because I cannot afford to. I either raise prices to the consumer to pay for the cost of collecting and remitting your taxes or I pack it in. Talk about creating jobs.... BUT.... you say that you must close the Internet "loophole". Is the next logical step to close the private sales "loophole"? Will you next tighten up\create new laws that will ENSURE that ALL private sales are taxed? I just gave a used tire to my compadre here visiting from Nebraska. He gave me $5 anyway. TECHNICALLY... I sold him the tire... but I did not pay the State of Texas nor the State of Nebraska any sales tax, I KEPT the $0.4125. Is the NEXT logical step to make me a criminal for tax evasion in Texas or in Nebraska? This is a slippery slope..... There SHOULD be a limit to the amount of money legislators and govern

What will this additional burden do to the millions of small business owners that sell merchandise out of their kitchen on Ebay, Amazon, etc? Do you suppose that the population of people you hope will collect taxes for you will dwindle as they are forced out of business because the burden of maintaining tax collected records for the guy in Podunk, USA that bought the $5 used item is overwhelming...and you KNOW that Podunk has a local sales tax that must be collected and remitted. Is the NEXT logical step to make me a criminal for tax evasion in Texas or in Nebraska? This is a slippery slope..... There SHOULD be a limit to the amount of money legislators and government can take from people that, for the most part, cannot defend themselves from their avarice. Do not support H.R 682\S. 336. Not only is it ill-conceived, it cannot be made to work. The current sales taxing scheme works somewhat because the number of taxing entities to be complied with are limited to somewhat manageable levels. H.R 682\S. 336 does not do this and is clearly nothing more than a money grab.... jpenajr@hotmail.com

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing [a people] to slavery." --Thomas Jefferson: Rights of British America, 1774.

Complexity of compliance for online sellers would be impossible. This is just another way to create a new class of criminals.

There is no wiggle room in our lives as it is. Stop stealing our hard earned money. Government is not working in a responsible manner and doesn't deserve more. Government should be making massive tax cuts if it were truly concerned about the economy.

Please do the right thing...don't pass this Marketplace Fairness Act bill. We don't need another tax we need to keep more of our hard earned money so we can save it and spend it as we see fit. Thank you.
