Individual taxpayers and businesses need to be unburdened from the asphyxiating effects of the current tax code. The FairTax is far and away the best and most logical proposal for accomplishing this. In addition to the more obvious benefits the FairTax Act would provide, I am especially supportive due to the ability of the Act to severely cut the power of lobbyists and other special interests to effect the tax code to their cause. There will be no more obfuscation and hidden loopholes able to be buried within the thousands of pages of the current tax code when, under the FairTax, there will only be one legislative "lever" to pull that being the national consumption tax rate. The transparency is inherent as everyone nationwide will know the minute that one single rate changes as they will see it immediately in their purchases, unlike the taxes no one even is aware of under our current system that deducts all manner of taxes from our paychecks before we ever see them. That one advantage of the FairTax Act will allow our legislative branch to get back to the business of legislating for the good of the country vs for the good of the lobbyist's clients looking for tax favors.REPORT COMMENTS
