Because as long as the education system is run by the federal government "it" will decide what "it" wants the serfs to know. And we will continue to have a degradation of our nation and political system. We will begin to see forward progress when our politicians paychecks and benefits are supplied by the state not the federal government. As long as their pay and benefits come from the federal government who will they represent? Their state? Or the "cash cow?"
