Mr President - I understand your concern for public well being and safety but this is truly going beyond that. I have never like guns - my x threatened to kill me with one. HOWEVER - I must say that just because of small instances that occure throughout the world- doesnt mean everyone should be punished. My current husband a former marine- has tought me gun saftey. Has shown me that many people use them strictly for protection purposes and hunting. My husband provides for his family when we are low on funds by hunting. And protects his family by owning a small arms weapon. The argument used for the ban- is due to what happened in Uganda correct? The deaths that occured here and in many nations were not done by small arms weapons- but by BIGGER guns. Ones that were easy to get, and cause the most damage and inflict the most fear. Many of which were often purchased on the black market by former individuals with military training (in other countries). AGAIN - OTHER COUNTRIES. If we are to do what other countries want and do - why not also do the following: Legalize Drugs Tax prostetution Use ONLY Ethanol as fuel Have a dictatorship When you can agree that this will all be done - then maybe I will listen to this MILARKY on small gun bans. And then proceed to laugh and truly wonder what my government offical that I elected into office is smoking in their spare time.
