Tell U.S. Senators: Stop CISPA!

Please, help Conservative Action Alerts keep your information safe and private, and away from government agencies!

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act would annul each and every American’s natural right to privacy by giving big businesses the power to hand over their users’ private, sensitive information to government agencies.

The bill, S. 624, unashamedly states that big businesses are exempt from honoring and abiding by privacy laws: On page 4, line 5, the bill says that “notwithstanding any other provision of law," businesses may share user information "with any other entity … or other appropriate agency or department of the Federal Government."

This means your emails, text messages, chat logs, bank statements, web searches, eBay purchases, documents in the cloud, etc. are all subject to being turned over to government for any reason under the sun, so long as the information can be construed as a “threat” to cybersecurity.

>The crux of the matter is this: you have a natural right to privacy and government has no authority to violate it. The right of privacy – or, what our founders called “security” – existed long before the formation of the United States and is not a gift of government, but of God. This is why the founders codified this right in the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution, which states: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

CISPA clearly violates the Fourth Amendment, thus, Lawmakers – those individuals who swore an oath to defend the Constitution and serve the people – have absolutely no business supporting the terrible piece of legislation.

Congress is bound to protect our privacy – or, as Justice Louis Brandeis called it “the right to be left alone” – not trade it in for a scheme of false security.

Take Action! Sign the petition and message your U.S. Senators demanding they OPPOSE the “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act” and DEFEND digital privacy!

Votes: CISPA passed the House of Representatives 228-127 on Thursday, April 18, 2013.

Have yet to read a comment that I disagree with. ELECTED officals had better start keeping their promises thay used to get elected. AND keeping the oath they took to DEFEND & UPHOLD the Constution. Also it is their duty to get rid of this guy now calling himself Obama. Who has lied his way into the highest office of the land through the illegal means directed by his Puppet masters.

Isn't one of our God given and Constitutional rights that of freedom from unwarranted search and seizure? Elected officials should have to pass a test on the Constitution before being allowed on the ballot.

Its bad enough Obama has signed over 900 executive orders to steal private property, money, business & anything he wants, from hard working citizens, & all of you are living the life of Ryley on our blood, sweat & tears, that AGAIN YOU ARE ISSUEING ANOTHER bill to steal even more privacy. You've got us chasing our own tail in circles trying to put out you're ever encroaching sinister, treasonous bills. You are our representatives, employees, not our plantation owner. STOP WRITING OUR CONSTITUTION & BILL OF RIGHTS AWAY.

The internet is a free source of information for the education of people the Obama administration does not have the right to violate the free expression of speech and or information sharing of this medium, we as a nation of free people have the right to learn and teach others this cyber security act must not be aloud to infringe on these basic rights of an open civilization, and or its ability to add to the betterment and sharing of all knowledge, with the exception for direct matters that may pose a possible threat to national security through computer hacking of government installations or critical infrastructures. Furthermore NO president should have a kill switch or the ultimate say over this public medium.
