The Second Amendment is very clear, "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." The Constitution is very clear that if you want to change it, Article V provides the method. No presidential decree, No legislative bills, No bureaucratic regulations can lawfully diminish its clearly worded and understood statement. The USSC has already ruled on the issue, but there are imbeciles, many of whom are elected to office, who don't have the sense to understand the "nature" of the Constitution. YES, I CAN yell fire in a crowded theatre. However, if I do I may be punished for infringing upon the rights of others to peaceably assemble and enjoy their happiness. The Second Amendment is no different. Those who misuse their right to keep and bare arms, should be punished. Furthermore, I have never seen a quote from history relating to the Second Amendment that said anything about sporting and hunting. I've seen numerous quotes regarding protecting your liberty from tyrannical government as the reason for its existence. In the construction of the Constitution, we must look to the history of the times, and examine the state of things existing when it was framed and adopted to ascertain the old law, the mischief and the remedy. ~(2 Wheat 354; 6 Wheat 416;4 Peters 431-2) Rhode Island v Massachusetts, 37 US 657 . The United States is entirely a creature of the Constitution. Its power and authority have no other source. It can only act in accordance with all the limitations imposed by the Constitution. ~ Reid v Covert 354 US 1, 5-6 . The Constitution is a written instrument. As such, its meaning does not alter. That which it meant when it was adopted, it means now. ~ South Carolina v US (1905), 199 US 437 , 448. Undoubtedly what went before the adoption of the Constitution may be resorted to for the purpose of throwing light on its provisions. ~ Marshall v Gordon, 243 US 521, 533. Obama, Reid, Feinstein, Shumer, et al do not have the authority to lawfully impose any of their gun control on Citizens within the Union States. The U. S. Supreme Court rulings above clearly show it. Do you see anywhere in Article 1, Section 8 where the federal government has any such authority within the Union States? It is NOT there! The mechanism in the Constitution itself for making changes called Amendments is in Article V. If that rule is not followed, the clear and plain wording of the Constitution is not changed. "That which it meant when it was adopted, it means now." [So. Carolina v. US supra] Any so-called law if applied to the Union States would be void, the same as no law at all. No one is bound to obey it, and no courts are bound to enforce it. See, 16th American Jurisprudence, 2nd Edition, Section 256 [formerly 177].REPORT COMMENTS
