Those who speak out against Islam are often accused of being islamophobic and/or racist. Both accusations are equally ridiculous. Islam is not a race, hence one cannot be a racist for being against Islam as a whole. As for islamophobia, there is no such thing. The Mayo Clinic defines "phobia" as "an overwhelming and unreasonable fear of an object or situation that poses little real danger but provokes anxiety and avoidance." Merriam Webster defines the term as "an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation" With regard to Islam there is nothing "unreasonable" or "illogical" about being fearful of it. Rather, it is illogical for non-muslims not to fear this "religion". Islam, since its inception about 1400 years ago, has been marked by persecution of and violence against unbelievers. Its "prophet" advocated or, more accurately, demanded the persecution, subjugation and killing of those who would not submit to Islam, either through conversion or dhimmitude. The holy texts of Islam (the Qur'an, Ahadith and Sunnah) all call for war against the unbelievers and attest to the massacres committed by the "prophet" Muhammad and its followers. Believers, unwilling to actively participate in the war against the infidels are condemned to eternal hell, and those who sincerely befriend the unbeliever are equally reviled. Of course, those in defense of Islam always bring up the atrocities committed by "christians". So for those who do, I will try to put this into proper perspective. It is actually quite simple. Those who hate, judge, persecute or kill others in the name of Christ are not true Christians, as they go against the very teachings and actions of Christ. Those who do not hate, judge, persecute or kill non-muslims are not true muslims, as they do not follow the teachings and examples of Muhammad. Hence, IS (ISIS, ISIL) is the purest example of Islam. Do your research, pick up a Bible/New Testament or the aforementioned Islamic holy texts and actually read them yourself. I did. -
