I believe we should clean up our own house before we invite in company. Unemployment, homeless people w/ children, street gangs. There is plenty for us to do to help people that are here. If we can't find a place for them, why would you bring in more. our economy can't support the people we have. I say NO to allowing more. We need Immigration Reform - That includes 3 things - 1. Securing our Borders and our Sovereignty - We also need to penalize those employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens & create a secure instant check system that allows employers to check on the Immigration Status of Prospective Employees. 2. Making sure those who are here already can be granted Permanent Legal Right to Work Status upon completion of 240 Hours of Community Service (A fine would be paid by their employers whom they would then owe).... Citizenship should not be discussed until those who have followed the rules and waited for our Byzantine system to work are taken care of. 3. Those who apply for "Work Visas", Residence Visas" etc. in their "Countries of Origin" need to be processed in 2 - 3 months, not 6 years. I had a friend (an American citizen) who had to translate and then process all the documents so his son could come and live with him in the USA, only to have his son (a citizen & resident of El Salvador) placed on a 6-year waiting list! This insanity encourages illegal immigration. Fixing that broken system would encourage most of these otherwise law-abiding people to wait the 2 - 3 months for permission to come and work here legally...REPORT COMMENTS

Allowing uncontrolled entry into the U.S. and then providing them to reap the benefits of U.S. citizenship is a slap in the face to all those imigrants who have come to America legally. Those who have come the U.S. legally and have become citizens have come here because of what America is (or was). They aren't trying to change this country into the one they left behind.
