Tell Congress: Secure the Borders First!

Lawmakers must offer workable step-by-step immigration reforms that secure the borders first and are compatible with the Constitution.

The bi-partisan "Gang of Eight" has made it their task to overhaul our current immigration system. Over a course of months and after a myriad of closed-door meetings, the Gang recently unveiled their plan: an unworkable 844 page volume that few Senators are likely to actually read (much less understand).

With immigration as much a mess as it is, and as complicated as it is, lawmakers must offer remedies wisely and slowly – not through a one-size-fits all “comprehensive” plan.  We don’t need an “Obamacare” of immigration. We need many single-issue bills, and we need months to debate them in broad daylight.

Not only that, we need to identify and work on real priorities. Before discussing any type of “pathway to citizenship” or amnesty program – which the Heritage Foundation claims would cost $6.3 trillion – lawmakers must deal with the root of our immigration problem, first and foremost: insecure, unmanaged borders.

True immigration reform means securing the borders first!

Border security, however, must be compatible with the Constitution and should not violate the People’s freedom of travel. Further, border security measures must not include provisions to mandate any type of National ID card, which would subject Americans to greater government surveillance.

Take Action! Sign the petition and message your lawmakers telling them that Immigration Reform starts with Secure Borders! Lawmakers must offer workable step-by-step immigration reforms that secure the borders first and are compatible with the Constitution!

It's time to close the border and get all the illegal immigrants out of America. They are hurting the US economy more then helping. Give jobs back to tax paying americans, save billions on welfare and health programs. Give us our country back. There is no other country in the world that allows this type of immigration, why should we? The tax payers shouldn't be supporting those who do not pay taxes themselves. Save America the billions of dollars a year it cost to take care of these immigrants from welfare to the prison system. Maybe we could turn this country around with the millions of jobs that open, minimum wage increasing getting rid of these workers that will work for anything and all the money being sent back to their country untaxed. How are they helping the economy? They are destroying it, get them out and close the borders.

My son in law was in a traffic accident with undocmented immigrant. It took two weeks for it to be reported in the local paper because Sheriffs dept failto report on the media release site. I think it happens because there afraid the they reported for discrimination. Most immigrants really have more civil rights than white and brown americans born here!,

The United States has been betrayed by our political elitists and I hold little hope that they will as the result of a petition suddenly honor their oath of office. However, they are now on notice that We The PEOPLE have had enough of their compromising of our security.

This country has been taken away from the American people and given to illegal aliens by politicians that have a questionable agenda. The only way to change this lawlessness is to VOTE for the party that will protect this country first. God help us.

Send them home. Put them in the military or make them pay taxes. Fine employers for paying illegals under the table. With the threats to our country from ISIS, how can we not have this issue be one of the first to be dealt with. US citizens born here need to be taken care of first. Stop selling off our country to foreigners.

It's too bad we can't ask former President Reagan his opinion on amnesty. Guarantee you, he wouldn't do it again. If we don't secure the borders now, when?
