I understand that there are already Republican cracks. It is my understanding that Senator Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee is considering holding hearings on Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court. I also understand that the senior Senator from my state of Texas, John Cornyn has also made noises in that direction. Apparently, these men do not understand what is going on in the Republican Presidential Primary. It is the Establishment Republicans' refusal to oppose Obama on anything that has lead to Donald Trump being number one and Ted Cruz being number two. The filling of Justice Scalia's seat on the Supreme Court is of such critical importance to the survival of our nation as a free Constitutional Representative Republic that if these men and the rest of the Republicans cave-in, and allow Obama's nominee a hearing, there will be a mass exodus from the Republican party. The Senate has no Constitutional or moral imperative to take any action on Obama's nominee. Additionally, Senator McConnell needs to be mindful of the length of time that the Senate is recess, lest there be a recess appointment. If that happens, we will know that it is not by mistake.
