Dear Sir: Although I approve of gun control, I believe it is not being handled in the proper way. There is an urgent need to go after those who traffic in illegal weapons, or use them. Normal people who obey the laws need weapons to defend themselves. They are unlikely to ever use a gun in the commission of crimes. Why deprive honest citizens of their constitutional rights, while ignoring the real cause of gun crimes, which is invariably by either criminals, nuts who steal guns, or the mentally unbalanced. I am hoping that the next nominee would be a centrist someone who has looked at this matter in its entirety, and does not condone the actions of criminals who would never register their guns, while impeding the innocent from protecting themselves or their families or fellow citizens. When this administration's own research has shown that people are safer when the public is armed, why does this administration continually try to take away their 2nd ammendment rights by any means they can.
