The War On Poverty was one of the worst ideals that has ever been done to the Constitution!! We have spent Trillions of dollars to try to help the poor and it has only made it worse for them. It is worse than the hated "Slavery" that was so hated! It has ruined more families than slavery ever did. They have become totally dependent on the handouts that they receive and have lost all perspective on working for a living. Welfare should also be Workfare at minimum wage, with a mandate to attend classes for work that is looking for skilled/trained people. At the same time, I believe that Senators and Congressmen/ women should forego their high political perks and go on Social Security and Medicare, with no retirement or other perks because all terms should be limited to two for all government employees.REPORT COMMENTS
