Taxing consumption is the modern answer powered by technology we have put in place today. We can achieve this very rapidly with low risk. This will propel America ahead of the world and generate lasting growth and real progress. What we have now is repressive. The time for bold action is now. -

Enough already with the politics of division wealth redistribution. In a country where equality is touted as the highest of virtues, it is time that we end the class warfare rhetoric and adopt a system of taxation that doesn't unjustly benefit one group or groups at the expense or to the detriment of another. There's quite a difference between promoting the general welfare and providing it.REPORT COMMENTS

The current Federal Tax Code has developed through the years as the handiwork of elected officials from across the political spectrum. It is now totally over the top (known by the American people as a key part of "The Swamp")! From the first days that the concept of FairTax began, it has received interest from a base of bipartisanship. The FairTax concept to repeal/replace the IRS-driven income-stream methods can be installed nationwide in a seamless manner with bipartisan leadership & support. Let's get this reform started correctly, effectively, and professionally with willing active participation and cooperation led by common sense conservative reform-minded American elected leaders!REPORT COMMENTS

With a consumption tax like the Fair Tax, exports would be untaxed and imports would be taxed. Trade deficits would just about disappear. Also, with the payroll tax going away and every family receiving a monthly deposit equal to the tax required to spend at the poverty level, the poor would also be untaxed.REPORT COMMENTS

Americans don't need tax reform only! We need a measure that will let us keep ALL of our paycheck, let us control the amount of "tax" we pay by creating a national consumer tax, and eliminate the IRS once and for all. The IRS is the biggest waste of money and resources that we have ever seen in this country to date. Eliminating the IRS will also eliminate discrimination and political games against businesses and associations that don't jive with the views of a current sitting political party. Eliminating the IRS will solve many problems in this country. Please do what you can to pass the Fair Tax Act of 2017. Help all Americans in their quest to live out the American dream. A consumption tax would allow families and retirees to control the tax they pay by their consumption habits. It naturally collects more taxes when high priced items are purchased. If it doesn't exclude businesses then it should since we as consumers pay that hidden tax via higher prices. Everyone would pays taxes contrary to the current system where some do not pay anything and look to get benefits others have to pay for. Only when we are all invested in the US will we strive to make it a better place.REPORT COMMENTS

HR-25/S-18 does everything that the RNC and POTUS "claims" what is needed from tax reform. Over the past 15yrs, it has had upwards of Eight Dozen Bipartisan Cosponsors. It is the ONLY tax reform that COMPLETELY untaxes the Poor and Low Wage earners, while removing over $400 Billion per year in waste regulatory compliance, documentation and filing costs for both individuals and business. In addition, it would turn the USA into the world's tax haven, attracting TRILLIONS in investment capital that would pour onto our shores looking for job creating investment opportunities. Please put this needed tax reform on Donald Trump's desk and allow him to sign it into law BTW - it abolishes the IRS and that agency's $12 Billion annual budget. The Fair Tax is the only tax legislation that puts power of the purse truly back into the people's hands. It is the best plan for people on the lower end of the earning scale. It's the only plan where everyone pays. Imagine having the Fair Tax already implemented and someone trying to replace it with the tax code we have today, that would be considered insane, rightly so. For over 20 years, I have dedicated my precious time and energy as a volunteer, to create a national discussion on the overwhelming importance of "True Fundamental Tax Reform” as the First and necessary action, to restore the health and vitality, both morally and economically, to our unhealthy nation. I believe in replacing, entirely, every aspect of our federal income tax system, including the repeal of the 16th Amendment, with a national retail sales tax, as best expressed by The FairTax®. And no, The FairTax® isn’t a VAT. Our Labor is our most sacred, valued, and precious activity, second only to praise to GOD. Therefore it begs the question of why we permit our Labor to be subjugated to such an abusive and destructive system in the form of our, in reality, any, income tax system. Our idea isn’t new. Federalist Paper 21, Alexander Hamilton so eloquently offers the virtues and benefits of not taxing Labor and originally, our Constitution correctly, prohibited one. Plain and simple, an income tax is to support Communism. It is the 2nd guiding principle of “The Communist Manifesto”; and therefore, it is no surprise there is so much Strain and Aggravation dominating all of our personal, professional, civic, and political relationships; as Communism inherently conflicts with our Constitutional/Republic | Representative/Democracy. Any perceived or inherent good any member of congress or the president purport to promote and/or create is Completely and Utterly undermined by the existence of our federal income tax system. Until our federal income tax system is eliminated, we are all guilty of treason to the blood which has been shed, in all generations, to protect and preserve The Declaration Of Independence and The Constitution. Passage of The FairTax®, along with repealing the 16th Amendment, will assist in restoring the correct relationship which is to exist between We, The People and our federal government and will start the process to repair the 100+ years of incalculable damage caused by our federal income tax system. Imagine a day, when all of Our resources, “Dead”icated to the federal income tax are Liberated and Re-Directed to those endeavors, We, deem important, and in the process, making April 15th another blessed day. I have been a strong supporter of the Fair Tax Act for more than a decade. But, Congress has played "deaf" to the pleas of USA citizens. It is past time this act was signed into law. It is the most FAIR method of taxation I have ever seen. It will be a tremendous boost to the economy and will get taxes from those who traditionally avoid paying any tax at all due to "working for cash" or other fraudulent schemes. It is revenue neutral which means the government will have the money to keep running. The poor are protected from a tax burden via the prebate, but fairness is provided as ALL citizens will receive the prebate. CONGRESS! PASS THE FAIR TAX ACT NOW!REPORT COMMENTS

Only an estimated half of the population pays any taxes. We support the other half, and the entire federal and local budget: defense, infrastructure, education, welfare, foreign aid, and everything else.
