USAID continues despite "shutdown" – tell Congress to start making cuts!

It's time to tell lawmakers to start cutting USAID commitments and other "foreign welfare" programs – the government is not a charitable organization!

The current government shutdown has barred veterans from visiting memorials and has even thrown people out of their homes, yet the government evidently has enough money to keep doling out aid to foreign governments.

“The federal government may have ground to a halt because of the budget standoff in Washington,” says the New York Times. “But at least one part of the government continues to operate as usual: foreign aid agencies.”

The State Department has confirmed that foreign aid programs will continue, even as state and local aid programs are shutting down for want of funds.

If foreign countries really needed the aid and were grateful to the US for it, then perhaps some aid... However the US has millions of her own citizens - homeless, on welfare, receiving food stamps, jobless and unable to pay their bills, free medical care (NOT on Obamacare...yet), !!! This administration keeps on its outrageous SPENDING, the National Debt can NEVER be paid down....and yet, they continue to give OUR money, by the billions, to countries that hate our guts!! This is SHAMEFUL!!!

Congress should see to it that no money goes to other countries. While our people are suffering financially.
