Dear Senator, I have always been supportive of you - until now. It is inconceivable to me that you would even consider ANY change to the unalienable rights provided to the citizens of the United States by our Creator (not the U.S. Senate, BTW). What part of: "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" do you, President Obama, and the other Senators do not understand? Nothing you do legislatively tomorrow could have prevented the Sandy Hook or Aurora killings, either now or back then. Madmen chose those venues precisely because they were gun free zones and they knew it. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Also, look at the numbers of people killed in those attacks. Then take a look at this: more than 150K Black-on-Black gun violence killings of babies through teens have taken place since April 2012, in such inner cities as Chicago, Detroit, Philly, Newark, and D.C. These are senseless, cold-blooded murders by self-proclaimed "gangstas for what - bragging rights? Do you honestly think any legislation you write will be obeyed by criminals with a mindset such as that? They buy their guns on the street - not at gun shows. Are Black children less important to you than affluent, white suburban children? Then why not go after the real killers - not blameless citizens who would use guns for self-defense or sport. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." More than 250k people are killed each year by medical errors; in 1976 when the govt issued the CAFE standards for cars and insisted on smaller cars, more than 200k people died in the ensuing two years; 5k kids drown in pools each year; and yet there is evidence that having an armed person on site at a shooting is the only defense against a madman wth a gun. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." And if you are so sure that this path to gun confiscation is the "right thing to do", why are you and the other Congress members exempting yourselves from this legislation? Only you elites are allowed to carry concealed weapons? And you elites also get to avoid the coming clustrf**k nightmare that WILL BE Obamacare, as only we peasants will be subject to the Liverpool Pathway (death by bureaucrats or Doctors who get bonuses to off old people by placing a sticker on their medical charts without consulting their families in the lovely UK govt healthcare system. No one in Washington D.C. has the right to tell any American citizen what gun they can own, how many bullets they can use, how many bullets per magazine, or anything really up to and unless someone steps on the rights of someone else.
