Why don't we start worrying about getting to the root of the problem? Guns are just one means people have used to carry out the atrocious thoughts that run through their sick minds. Take away guns, and they will find another way (ie. Timothy McVeigh). The worst mass killings that have taken place on US soil did not involve guns, so please STOP with the anti-gun hysteria and START using your logic. -

The answer to this problem is not the knee jerk reaction of some glory seeking politicians. Gun restrictions in the past have had no effect on homicides or crime rates. Laws or bans on rifles or guns will only increase crime. Laws do not influence the criminal element or the mentally ill. They will always target areas where people can't defend themselves. We have people doing drugs and there are numerous laws against drugs. We have DWI laws and people driving drunk still cause accidents and kill innocent people. Guns don't kill people! People with mental issues who were taught to shoot guns kill people! People are going to have weapons no matter what, even if you banned them. The criminals are still going to get there guns, so why would you want to disarm all the innocent civilians who use theses weapons to protect there families from these criminals? Those that wish to disarm us and deny us the means of self-defense are the same kind of people that paved the way for genocide in various parts of the world. Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, Cambodia, China, Laos, Rwanda - the list is virtually endless and the number of lives lost is in the hundreds of millions.
