The reasons are too numerous to list, but we all know how effective the FairTax would be. My family alone would save hundreds of $ and hours trying to stay compliant with a joke of a system. No one really knows all the rules or loopholes. The entire system doesn't need revising, it needs to be scrapped altogether and HR25 needs to implemented ASAP. The whole income tax situation is a massive waste of time. The 1099's I have to submit are just a make-work exercise to justify someone's payroll. If the IRS reads any part of it incorrectly, then they notify me and I don't have to do anything. And the vendors I have to report on do work for private individuals as well as businesses. Only the businesses have to report their payments, not the private clients, so if a vendor does want to cheat, there's no way to check his total income, just that part from businesses. What a waste of time and paper. There would be grossly less fraud if the Federal government collected its income from sales taxes instead of the burdensome "income" tax. What is "income" and what is a "deductible"? Too many interpretations. Instead, a sale is a sale and the value is absolute.REPORT COMMENTS
