DHS will never use all that ammo in 20 years, why do they need so much??? There are 2 reasons, 1 to hyper inflate the price of ammo or the Ammo companies trying to earn more profit from causing a shortage. Either way it has to stop.REPORT COMMENTS

There is not good explanation except reverse gun control to the ammo shortage in the stores and the 33 year build up of Homeland Security, it was reported quite a while back that it was enough to shoot every man woman and child five times. It would seems likely since HS has acquired many more rounds that this count would be higher. Other than Obama's citizen army, there is no reason for this ammo stockpile. Seems when asked the question Napalitano pretty much told Congress to stick it where the sun don't shine. If there is anything more loveable than this administrations treatment of the law and the rule of law I'd be hard pressed to state it. The reason can't be good.REPORT COMMENTS

No more ammo for DHS! Why do they need 3-4 times more per man than the military? Why hollow points which are more expensive? Hold them accountable.REPORT COMMENTS

The country is broke. We owe everybody. Why would supposedly intelligent people buy this much ammunition, If things got rough they'd put their heads in the sand anyway. The people that would defend this country will be the one's not polishing chairs.REPORT COMMENTS
