Tell Congress: Keep Presidential Term Limits, Oppose H.J. Res. 15

New York Representative Supports a Resolution that would Abolish Presidential Term Limits ...

On January 4, New York Representative Jose Serrano introduced H.J. Res. 15 -- a resolution to repeal the 22nd Amendment and thereby abolish presidential term limits.

H.J. Res. 15 is currently in the House Judiciary Committee, and lacks co-sponsors. In order to succeed, it must pass both the House and the Senate, and have support among at least 3/4 of the fifty state governments.

In 1947, the 22nd Amendment passed in Congress and was later ratified in 1951.

The Amendment was created by Congress to prevent three and four term U.S. Presidents, like Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Term limits are a good thing and must remain.

Tell Your Lawmakers to OPPOSE the Repeal of the 22nd Amendment, H.J. Res. 15. Sign the petition and message lawmakers below.

There should be only one 6-year term as President allowed. Avoid re-election chaos and demeaning of the office the President of the USA. Senate only two 6 year terms. House only four 3 year terms.

Term limits for all elected officials and their staff automatically goes with them. Every dollar on down to the last "red" cent should be paid back. And while we're at it, "First Lady" is not a title nor an entitlement and there are no staff for the wife of a president nor any other spouse of elected persons. What is spent by her/them comes out of their own pocket. Those we vote for should have real jobs and residences back among the people in their districts. NONE should have special privileges or retain benefits from elected office.

I say term limits for all. And no life-time benefits. Hell, looking at the results thus far, most of the congress should give back what we've paid them.

Term limits should be enforced for all members of congress also. These people have in effect managed to bring America to it's knees. Any congress member that would support such a measure must have some hidden agenda.
