Tell Congress: Abolish the U.S. Department of Education
Messages Sent So Far
Members of Congress need to abolish the Department of Education and get the federal government out of our schools.
Sign the petition and tell your U.S. Representative and Senators to support and pass H.R. 899, a bill that includes a single sentence that states, "The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2018.”
Education is not the responsibility of the federal government, but the responsibility of parents first and communities second. The absolute highest level of civil authority over education permitted under the Constitution is State government.

The scariest words one can ever hear are, "We're from the Government, and we're here to help." The N.E.A. is national disgrace; shoulder to shoulder with the Department of "Ejimacation".

The creation of the Department of Education, along with the other myriad of 'alphabet soup' agencies, was never a power delegated to the Federal government by the Constitution. The 10th Amendment clearly says that these powers 'not delegated' by the Constitution, belong to the States respectively, or to the people. Please start representing your state and it's people !

Washington is out of touch with America, much less our innocent children. Let's let the local governments who know the issues first hand handle our education crisis.

Terminate the Dept of Education. The federal gov't has no business dictating to the education of our children. The same is with health insurance. Gov't has no responsibility telling us what we need. The good people of this country are responsible for our own needs. Follow the Constitution and protect our country and don't tell us how to live or what we need.

Again, bring the power back to the parents and local authority. The Federal Government need not to be responsible, it has enough to deal with and does a poor job at it.

During the existence and influence of the Department of Education, our schools have increased their slide into mediocrity. Federal programs like "No child left behind" and "Common Core" are accelerating the decline.

Since Washington has taken over education, our children are falling behind in the world in learning. We are churning out new young adults that don't know how to write or think for themselves. Put back the Pledge Allegiance into our schools.
