Government has no business being in our Classrooms. Teachers are puppets teaching a Government Agenda. More likely a Liberal Agenda. All states need to adapt their own education teachings based upon the basics. Reading, Writing and Math (Arithmetic). Time to teach Finance and the Stock market as well. Vitally important in survival. Our society is financially illiterate. Trade schools need to make a comeback as well. We need more people with trades.

Since its inception we have dropped consistently in ranking. The country that put a man on the moon can barely spell it correctly.

Especially in New York City were the kids are graduating with a general HS diploma and do not know how to read and write. They need to go to a special agency to have their paper filled to go to work. How awful and shameful. Meanwhile retired teachers of NY are receiving such a large retirement checks. A couple that I know live on $9,000.00 a month and still complaining that is not enough.BASTA!

I have worked in the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education as a Health Educator. Being acutely aware of the politics of the teacher union and it's seemingly complete control of the school is an eye opener to me. Without doubt, I believe that the students curriculum has become very political and "dumbed down". Please give control back to the states and to the parents and the community, where I believe that it belongs.

overseeing public education at the local level only makes sense. Centralization is a waste of valuable educational monies.....we have been "throwing money" at education for the past 50 years and the education only gets worse. It is obvious from professional journals that a preponderance of our scientists, engineers, and those who have other very challenging degrees come from foreign countries. Highschools are a joke.....more of a social gathering than for learning.

I have been in favor of this idea for several decades. The Dept of Education is another federal boondoggle. The highest rate per capita spent on kids in the world and the rankings of US students on an international level are pathetic in math and science. The vast majority of education money is spent on administration not teaching. I think abolishing the Dept of Education is a great start.

Now might be the best time to push this legislation. The democrats are so upset with Betsy DeVos they might do anything to stop her.

One SIZE does not fit all. In fact, when our educational system taught us how to think, and not what to think, that diversity in learning gave America the best overall education in the world. The absolute best innovators in every aspect of society came out of that old system. 2+2=5 is an attempt to indoctrinate young mush-minds anything so-called educators want them to believe without thinking!!!

Public education in this country has slipped to such a low level that it is more about liberal indoctrination, than about learning. Our children are falling behind the children of the other advanced nations, thanks to the corrupt teacher's unions and federal government meddling. This must be halted and reversed ASAP.
