Tell Congress: Abolish the Internal Revenue Service!

"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." No more wrist-slapping: Abolish the I.R.S.!

"... the amendment of the Constitution in 1913, giving the Federal government power to impose a progressive tax on all incomes. This idea was not only European, it was Marxian, one of the cardinal points of the Communist Manifesto." - Garet Garrett, 1952

The sixteenth amendment and the income tax have created a government monster! Not only has April 15 Tax Day become the bane of our 365 day calendar year, but the Tax Agency itself has become an enemy of the Constitution and our liberties.

The Internal Revenue Service’s attack on tea party groups, pro-gun groups, Christian groups, and the First Amendment requires Congress to take severe and meaningful action.

Right now, Senator Ted Cruz is calling for the complete abolition of the Internal Revenue Service in order to end its "power to abuse" once and for all.

Sen. Cruz says:

"We have seen in recent weeks that the IRS has not honored its trust with the American people, that the Obama Administration has demonstrated a willingness to use the machinery of government to target their political enemies. That's wrong. It was wrong when Richard Nixon did it, and it's wrong when Barack Obama did it."

"It is a manifestation of too much power in the federal government. When the federal government has that much power in our individual lives it's an invitation to being abused. And I think we ought to abolish the IRS …”

H.D. Thoreau wrote in 1854, “There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root.” We must demand our Representatives and Senators to join Senator Ted Cruz and work to “strike the root” of this present scandal by working to abolish the Internal Revenue Service entirely.

Congress must transition to a system that simplifies our tax system and makes the I.R.S. unnecessary: the adoption of a flat tax, national sales tax, or neutral tax all being viable replacements.

No more wrist-slapping: Abolish the I.R.S.!

Take Action! Sign the petition and send messages to your Representative and Senators demanding that they abolish the Internal Revenue Service!

Not only based on power abuse but this is way past due from the standpoint of reducing govt. size and cost cutting.

I was making automatic payments to the IRS for the last 2 years. We owed some more So I contacted them and said just tack it on and keep making payments. This has resulted in 6 letters to us saying that they are still thinking about it and they will get back to us. This amount is only $10000 dollars but we don't have it all in one place. If I had been this incompetent in my job, I would have been fired.

it is too powerful and has outlived its usefulness as Cruz says a simple tax on a card is all thats needed not this complex mess we have now.

If a flat tax was instituted we wouldn't need this corrupt 10 ton gorilla of an agency picking and choosing who to pick on next. I want a flat tax where everyone pays the same percentage. This would solve a lot of problems, .GOV had the chance yrs. ago to institute this but it meant the House and Senate would have to give up too much of their precious power to ever do whats best for the people. I would like to see this change but I suspect the House and Senate will be no more willing to give up thier power this time around either. Some day we will have to get around to electing a .GOV that works for US not themselves.

IRS has zero benefit for America! Thousands of dollars send to same person, too many scams and you gave money away to criminals that play the system with IRS. Stupid enough to seriously abolish the entire agency, along with Lois Lener avoiding to give speech about the scandal explains a lot too!
