Taking away a persons ability to defend themselves has done nothing to reduce mass shootings it has only served to make them easier to commit.

Think about it - the gun-free zone tells good people "you are safe here". It tells bad people, "I am safe there to do whatever I want".

Gun-Free School Zones are an open invitation to everyone from ordinary criminals, to terrorists, to unbalanced individuals to wreak havoc on law-abiding individuals WHO ARE PROHIBITED BY LAW FROM EFFECTIVELY DEFENDING THEMSELVES AND THE INNOCENTS IN THEIR CHARGE. Now is the time to pass H.R. 2613, the "Citizens Protection Act". The tragedy of the massacre at Newtown, Connecticut, by an obviously deranged individual is being exploited by those who erroneously contend passing still more gun ownership restrictions will magically stop or decrease such crimes against humanity. It should be obvious to any rational observer and potential victim that the Gun-Free School Zones law did not discourage the alleged murderer, Adam Lanza, from taking the lives of 18 children and 10 adults. In fact that misguided legislation guaranteed Lanza he would face no serious opposition to his ruthless attacks. Wake up America!

The cities with the toughest gun laws have the highest crime rates, because criminals don't care about laws; they don't obey the laws and they like easy prey.

I was trusted while in the Army to carry and use fully automatic weapons. Why don't you trust me now to own and carry a semi-auto weapon. the only thing that has changed with me is I am now 40 years older.
