Apply a tad of common sense. Where best to attack with a gun? An ARMY Base? A Police Station? A shooting range? A GUN FREE ZONE? BINGO We HAVE A WINNER! Don't blame the Bat, the Machete, nor the Gun. Place Blame in the correct hands- The Individual. They and they alone are responsible for their actions.REPORT COMMENTS

My fellow Americans, it is time that we come to the realization of failed policies. In remembrance of the lives lost in this most recent tragedy we must band together to defend the right to bear arms more than ever. Understand that this occurred in an area which already has strict gun laws and also took place in a "gun free zone." Now there is no way to predict how many lives could have been saved or if this could have been avoided altogether, but we will never know unless we take a step in the right direction of freedom and individual liberties. Any citizen with the ability and right to carry a gun on that campus may very well have been a hero, among those many teachers who are already heroes in many ways. Let's empower the educators, not the criminals, because only criminals do not obey the laws and with this in mind there is no law that can change this fact. Liberty is what makes people safer, the ability to decide if you are a hero or a villain, not a law, because once a law is broken and there is no ability to stop a threat immediately then those involved are at the mercy of a response time. This is not safety and this is not liberty. So please spread the message of liberty and share this petition with your friends, family, and associates. Let's demand that our representatives give us, law abiding citizens, the freedom to protect our life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and not to empower criminals with "gun free zones." The same petition that I started: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/end-gun-free-zones-and-we-people-demand-vote-citizens-protection-act-hr-2613/wYB29JCk and lastly: http://www.causes.com/actions/1715983 Thank you for your support!REPORT COMMENTS

THE CONN SITUATION WAS VERY SAD, BUT THOSE PEOPLE WERE TOTALLY UNABLE TO DEFEND THEIRSELVES. TAKING AWAY GUNS IS PUNISHING THE WHOLE COUNTRY FOR THE ERROR OF A FEW. IT IS A PROVEN FACT THAT, ALWAYS, THESE PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE TO ERROR WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET THE WEAPON OF THEIR CHOICE. OUR MENTAL INSTITUTIONS AND TREATMENTS WERE TORN DOWN AND CHANGED IN THE LATE 6OS AND EARLY 7OS SO THAT THESE PERSON WHO WOULD CHOOSE TOERROR ARE BEING LEFT UNTREATED AND LET TO RUN THE STREETS UNTIL THEY HAVE A MENTAL CRISIS. . THERE IS MORE TO THE CONN SITUATION THAN JUST GUNS. MENTAL ILLNESS NEEDS TO BE REVALUATED IN THIS COUNTRY. WHEN GUNS, OF ANY TYPE, ARE IN THE HANDS OF RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE THERE IS NO PROBLEM. LEAVE GUNS ALONE---GO TO THE CORE OF THE PROBLEM.REPORT COMMENTS

Any GUN FREE ZONES, invites deranged people a free tacket to go into these zones with out any apprehention at all, their victims are helpless, with out any weapons ! Think back to ALL of the shootings in the last several years, such as schools and shopping malls, THEY ARE ALL GUN FREE ZONES, JUST INVITING CRIMINALS TO TARGET THESE PLACES !! Especially in schools, had the peincipal, teacher or custodian been trained in guns safety and use, could have easilly stopped most of these KILLINGS !REPORT COMMENTS

An armed citizen is a citizen that can help in situations like these. When the government talks of gun control it is not about controling guns it is just plain about control. Switzerland requires every person to have a weapon and take the training to use it. No one has envaded their country yet. You unarm the citizens and you have a situation like Nazi Germany where the citizen has no way to protect himself from the government. Our country was founded by men who had lived in tryranny and they were remarkable individuals that created a document that has suvived the test of time. However, we now have an administration that is leading our country into a dictatorship if people allow this to happen. Please don't forget the motto of this administration "Do not waste a crisis" and boy oh boy they won't.REPORT COMMENTS
