Tell Congress: Audit the Pentagon!
How can waste be identified and cut when the doors are closed, and books off the table? We have seen billions of tax dollars invested into defense, yet we are unable to judge if those dollars have been effective.
The Department of Defense should not be operating, like anything else in government, secretly; their financial statements should all be made known to the public. This is only proper, since all of their programs are funded by American taxpayers.
Although for certain companies and individuals secrecy has its advantages, an isolated Pentagon does less for national security. How can efficiency be judged? How can waste be identified and cut when the doors are closed, and books off the table? We have seen billions of tax dollars invested into defense, yet we are unable to judge if those dollars have been effective.
It is time for a change. We need a strong Pentagon committed to defending the American People, not one that is weakened by self-service and waste.
It is time for Congress to re-introduce the "Audit the Pentagon Act!"
